Maltese are good watchdogs and are known to be fearless, trusting and loyal, but may also have a lot of energy, tend towards hyperactivity, and may be rather needy.
Maltese do not require extensive exercise, and make good indoor dogs - especially for people who usually suffer from allergies - and have therefore become popular with apartment dwellers. They are generally good with children, though as puppies they may not be suited to families with young babies.
Maltese often suffer from unsightly eye-staining which requires regular cleaning. They also require a lot of grooming to keep their coat in pristine condition.

Yet another demonstration of the cutest smartest Maltese my Tobi doing a few tricks. Tobi is a 5 year old Maltese Dog who is very energetic and loves to play and never will he get tired. He loves treats dick van patten's beef formula and that is what i used for all his tricks. We go running together every day, he sleeps with me, and the best part of my life is having tobi lick my face which is so relaxing and of course some people will say ewwwwwwww but to a true dog love this is the best meditation one can ask for.
Tobi also loves to catch flies, believe it or not he is faster and can catch a fly in mid air, although he eats the fly ewwwwww but i guess it keeps him happy. :)
