The Persian is an ancient breed originating from Persia (modern day Iran). It has been bred for its long dense coat and shortened face. There are quite a number of varieties within the breed and various different colorings.

Although the Persian may appear aristocratic, it is known to be very friendly, affectionate, gentle, placid and adaptable - qualities that have no doubt made it perhaps the mst popular breed world-wide.

Before buying a Persian cat, you should be aware that because of their long coat, they require regular grooming, washing and brushing.
